Weekend workshop with Dina Glouberman

The most effective time for transformation and new beginnings is the moment when the winds of change are already blowing in one’s life.  Burnout, stress, crisis, confusion, loss, illness, major change: these are all words that let you know that you need to stop, orient yourself and listen to your inner wisdom before you can take your next step.  If you are a therapist, counsellor or consultant, this is the time in your client’s lives that they turn to you for help and are most open to receive it.

Imagination and Transformation:

An Introduction to Imagework  (Add For Practitioners?)

The most effective time for transformation and new beginnings is the moment when the winds of change are already blowing in one’s life.  Burnout, stress, crisis, confusion, loss, illness, major career or life change--these are all words that let us know that we need to stop, orient ourselves and listen to our inner wisdom before we can take the next step.  If you are a practitioner, this is the time in your client’s lives that they turn to you for help and are most open to receive it.

For over forty years, Dina Glouberman has been a pioneer in creating, teaching, and practicing the use of Imagework, the ground-breaking process that harnesses the imagination to guide our lives from within and create positive life choices and profound life changes.

The workshop focuses on the three-stage process of transformation: catalyst, turning point, and new beginning. We will be working with imagery at each point to go below everyday thinking and old assumptions to one’s own unique view of reality.

Using imagery has the power to deepen and speed up any learning, healing, problem solving, or creative process. You will learn to tap into the “transformational imagination” to get a vivid and accurate snapshot view of where you or your client are right now, what has led up to it, and what is possible— as well as to support you or others to say Yes and map out steps to a new future. We will also look at how the process works, answer questions about using it with clients, and practice facilitating each other.

If you are curious about the power of the imagination for transformation and life change, wanting to add skills and tools that will help you and others get unstuck and chart a new course, or simply wanting to bring creativity and wonder back into your life and work, this course is for you.

It is an invitation to personally experience a world that you could learn from, teach from, and be amazed and transformed by. It can offer clarity and confidence in your own life, as well as a powerful way to facilitate change in others.

This workshop is also an introduction to a professional training in Imagework for therapists, counsellors, consultants, coaches, and members of the helping profession.  Imagework has the added bonus that clients themselves can be taught to take these methods into their own lives to continue their own transformation.

Participants are invited to come with a beginner’s mind and an enquiring heart.

Dina Glouberman’s book, You are what you imagine: Three steps to a new beginning using Imagework (available from Amazon) as well as the MP3 of all the exercises, entitled Audio Spiritual Gym Exercises (https://www.dinaglouberman.com/shop/#cd-list ) can serve as a text for preparation and further training for the workshop.

CPD certificates are available.
